|St. Philip the Deacon Baptizing the Ethiopian Treasurer|
by Lambert Sustris (1500s)
Then Philip opened his mouth and ... proclaimed Jesus to him. As they traveled along the road they came to some water, and the eunuch said, "Look, there is water. What is to prevent my being baptized?" Then he ordered the chariot to stop, and Philip and the eunuch both went down into the water, and he baptized him.
- Acts 8:35-38
If you have someone in your life you feel called to evangelize, try saying a quick prayer to St. Philip the Deacon (a.k.a. St. Philip the Evangelist). Acts 8 shares of St. Philip's extraordinary ability to preach the Word effectively.
His memorial used to be June 6, but is now listed on the October 11 page in the 2004 Roman Martyrology.
