Two Sisters in Christ - Salome and Mary of Clopas

St. Mary of Clopas and St. Salome
(with St. John the Evangelist)
April 24 honors two women saints who must have been dear friends.  They were two of the several Galilean women who assisted Jesus during His mission. They were were also present at His Crucifixion, both went to His tomb on the first Easter morning to anoint His dead body, and they were among the first to learn of His resurrection.  These two women certainly displayed trusting in and living their lives for God.

There were also women looking on from a distance.  Among them were ... Mary the mother of the younger James and of Joses, and Salome.  These women had followed him when he was in Galilee and ministered to him.  ~Mark 15:40-41a
