Laetare Sunday ~ The Fourth Sunday of Lent

The term, "Laetare Sunday" is one that I have only vaguely been familiar with.  It doesn't get a lot of attention, and so I had to dig a bit to understand it better.  It is the Fourth Sunday of Lent and is considered to be a day of joy and hope.  The Entrance Antiphon begins with the word "Rejoice" (in Latin, "Laetare") and Easter is just around the corner.  Rose is a special color used to symbolize joy, so you might see some roses on the altar or rose-colored vestments at church on Laetare  (lay-TAH-ray) Sunday.
